What is yours when the work is done?
The most common problem for organisations changing agencies is lock-in: the domain sits in the agency's account, design files were never shared, nobody has the source code. We set delivery up as the opposite of that.
The table below is our standard approach and is attached to the offer in the same form. If a different model is needed (for example, we manage hosting), that is stated in writing too.
On Mallow Studio projects the domain is registered to the client; design sources, site source code, content and account access transfer to the client with the final payment. Third-party licences and open-source components are listed separately in the handover document.
| Item | Who owns it | How it is handed over |
|---|---|---|
| Domain | Client | Registered in the client's name/account. If we manage it, transfer is executed at handover. |
| Hosting | Client | Vercel/Netlify or your existing server; the account is opened in your name with admin access. |
| Site source code | Client | The Git repository is transferred to your account, or delivered as a complete archive. |
| Design source files | Client | Figma file or editable sources; vector logo (SVG/PDF) and usage guide. |
| Content and imagery | Client | Copy, photography and video archived and delivered at source resolution. |
| Admin panel (if any) | Client | An administrator account is created for you, with training and a short manual. |
| Custom software / ERP source | Per contract | Full transfer or a usage licence — stated explicitly in the offer; full transfer is the default. |
| Open-source components | Under their own licence | Libraries and licences (MIT, Apache-2.0, …) are listed in the handover document. |
| Paid third-party licences | Client's licence | Fonts, maps, stock assets are licensed in your name; term and scope are documented. |
| Analytics and Search Console | Client | Properties are created in your organisation's account; we are granted access. |

Frequently asked questions
Whose name is the domain registered in?
Always yours. Even when we handle registration, your organisation is the registrant and you get panel access from day one.
What if we continue with another agency next year?
Because the source code, design files and all account access are already yours, the transfer takes one handover meeting. We charge nothing for it.
Do you really hand over the source code?
Yes. Full transfer is the default on web projects. For custom software and ERP, the offer states in one sentence whether it is a full transfer or a perpetual usage licence.
Is anything handed over before final payment?
You see interim deliveries (design approval, staging environment) during the project. Transfer of sources and accounts completes with the final payment.
